Employees ask for more health testing

Most companies have not yet realized the true value of health and wellness programs for their employees. Not so for Madodi Bus Company which held their 3rd health and financial wellness programme for this year recently at their offices in Polokwane

So effective has the programme transformed how employees perceive issues of health and wellness that they even demanded that the programme be extended to include testing for HIV in the workplace.

The day also involved participation by Nedbank which addressed issues of financial fitness for employees as well as health talk by Mashadi Makobe from Momemtum Health.

F Lubbe from the Polokwane Municipality Road Safety department gave a moving presentation on some of the common reckless and negligent driving behaviors that cause accidents that could often be easily avoided such as stress and fatigue, ignoring the road signs as well as driving under the influence of drugs and other intoxicating substances.

Towards the end it was Madodi Executive Director, Olivia Maponya who acknowledged the good outcomes and benefits that the health and wellness programme is yielding for the company. She thanked all employees for their active involvement in the programme and promised that Directors and management are working hard to make sure that they have pleasant experiences and good working conditions which would make them productive all the time.

Other speakers included Dr SS Rasemana who gave employees important tips to consider before drafting their Wills.
